Online talk on “The Science of Meditation and Healing” – April 4

Mind is a complex, ever-evolving entity that has intrigued humanity for centuries and has been the subject of scientific query for decades. Recently, there is an emerging experimental field of science called “Contemplative Neuroscience” in which effects of the mind on the brain and other parts of the body are studied.

There is now a substantial body of evidence that mind holds tremendous power that can either be constructive or destructive depending on the quality of thoughts in the mind. When the thoughts are debase and of poor quality, the body reacts negatively, which explains the current surge of psychosomatic illnesses that we see in today’s world, like diabetes, heart attacks, strokes to name a few. On the other hand, if the quality of thoughts is positive and elevated, healing energy is generated. Meditation teaches us the simple tools to harness and channelize this healing energy for a healthy life.
