Adyar, Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ) : On the occasion of Global Family day, Brahma Kumaris Chennai Adyar branch hosted the event “One Heart, Many Minds” to enrich the living experience of households. The event was held from 8 am to 8 pm and about 100 families took benefit with a commitment to continue the journey of self exploration and meditation in their lives.
The event had many exhibits, creative workshops, facilitation sessions, artwork and other attractions. Participants were made to explore various facets of harmonic living and well being, to make the family experience richer.
Activities of the day:
1. Lift your life to vera level – New Year resolutions were made to be written on the heart shape paper representing their own heart. Also meditation techniques were explained on how we can go deep in forming healthy resolutions
2. Share your care – Participants were asked to choose a seat and imagine the seat to be that of a family member’s heart. Being seated they wrote their sorry and thank you to their loved ones.
3. The touch of constructive criticism – Participants were asked to release the negative feeling they had about self and society, and become free. Now they were asked to think, which part was in their control. With this cognitive shift they took one value card from the Value Tree to be implemented in their life.
4. Meditate a minute – Participants were asked to meditate for the resolution and other action plans they took in their previous activities. Guided commentary was given on how to shape their goals.
5. Hunt your blessings – Participants were told to write good wishes and asked to put in the pot where they receive blessings in return from God.
6. Family selfie – This was against the backdrop of heavenly scenery of the golden age. The whole family is encircled in a garland, where the elders have to bend, the young are to stretch, both make adjustments to accommodate love and unity in the family. The backdrop picture highlights our true nature of ‘heaven in every household’. The new world order that is getting re-established is seen in this creative exercise
Divine inspirations to the event were given by Dr. BK Muthumani, center in charge, Chennai Adyar. Overall it was an inspiring new year for everyone who attended the program.
