Health Minister and Transport Minister of Telangana Address “Rejuvenating Medical Minds” Conference

Hyderabad ( Telangana ): A Medical Conference on “Rejuvenating Medical Minds” was organised at Global Peace Auditorium, Brahma Kumaris Shanti Sarovar Retreat Center, in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Many top dignitaries and more than 1500 doctors, nurses, medical and paramedical staff and medical students participated in this conference. 

With insights from eminent speakers and dignitaries, the conference has put light on the need of Meditation and Spirituality for health care professionals. The missing dimensions of health care professionals were explored with topics such as Mind-Body-Medicine, Scientific Perspective on Meditation, Design your Destiny, Secrets of Happy Living, Work-Life Balance, etc. 

This conference was organised by the Medical Wing of the Brahma Kumaris in association with the Health Department of the Government of Telangana, the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy), the Indian Medical Association of Telangana, the Association of Physicians of India, Mamta Academy of Medical Sciences, and SVS Medical College.

Sharing his thoughts, Health Minister Etela Rajender emphasized that those working in the medical field should have the commitment, patience and humanitarian feelings so as to offer the best service to patients. It is important to have as much patience as possible to attend to and treat patients, he felt.

“Earlier, when there was not much technology, spending power and finances or assets, etc., people lived very happily and with no concerns. But the same cannot be said in present times. People are forgetting their roots and ignoring human relation values in a craze for Western culture,” he said, adding that the saying “Old is Gold” stands true as the need of the hour is following our rich culture and traditions and giving importance to human relations.

Transport Minister Ajay Kumar, who is also the chairman of Mamatha Institute of Medical Sciences, stated that people treat the doctor equal to a god and they come with a lot of hope to their doorsteps.

This profession is noble, challenging and has a lot of responsibility, the Minister told the budding doctors and nurses in the auditorium.

Motivational sessions on secrets of ultimate living, design your destiny, work-life balance, and a panel discussion on mind-body-medicine were held with a valedictory session focused on easy meditation for busy minds.

The objective of this conference was to explore the concepts of health and healing, spirit and spirituality. It sets out to answer, “how can healthcare professionals deliver the best possible care to patients, and at the same time enable them to feel enriched and supported by their work.”

Doctors, nurses, post graduate students and house surgeons from Government Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Unani and Naturopathy colleges, MBBS students and nurses from various private colleges in twin cities including Apollo, Avanthi, and Sujatha institutions attended the conference.
