Governor of Tamil Nadu Praises Brahma Kumaris, Inaugurates National Conference for Religious Leaders

“One God, One World Family !!!”  (Conference and Felicitation programme for Religious leaders)

Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ): A religious conference to honour various religious leaders and followers was held at Happy Village, the Brahma Kumaris Retreat centre located in Podavur Village, Sunguvarchathram. Some 1,000 delegates representing Hinduism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and many subsects participated in the conference.

The conference was inaugurated with a flag hoisting. Tamil Nadu zonal service coordinator BK Beena presented the welcome address, and the welcome ceremony was presided over by Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit shared his unique experience of this place, describing it as full of spiritual atmosphere and the embodiment of serenity and peace. The Governor congratulated the Brahma Kumaris for the efforts made in transforming mankind through nurturing spirituality and the human values of purity, peace and prosperity.

He also added how the Brahma Kumaris is more than an organization, but a movement spreading the oneness of One World and One Family which is akin to the Gandhian principles and of all religious belief. The Governor was very happy with the services contributed by the Brahma Kumaris, and related how the aim of every religion is one, and the ultimate objective is to live a simple and sweet life. Lastly, the Governor brought attention to the very purpose of mankind by quoting “One must remember the God whole heartedly with the awareness that God is watching and through this pure remembrance of God, the new world of oneness (referring to the Vasudeva Family) will be established.”

Rajyogini BK Usha from Mt Abu presented the keynote address. Special guests Swamy Gururetnam jnana thapaswi, General Secretary of Santhagiri Ashram, Thiruvanathapuram; Rev. FR.S. Thomas Elango, Rector and Parish Priest, Archdiocese of Madras, Mylapore; and Moulavi K.M. Ilyas Riyaji, Chief Imam, Eid kha Masjid, Mandaveli, Chennai, shared their words of Felicitation.

BK Muthumani, Senior Rajayoga Teacher, Adyar, Chennai, guided everyone into their inner world and connected them to their real valuable state of silence.

Senior Rajayoga Teacher BK Kalavathi gave a vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants.

The next session was a presentation on “Spiritual Leaders: Harbingers of the New World”.

Senior Rajayoga Teacher BK Usha from Mt Abu explained about the importance of spirituality and the social responsibility of spiritual leaders to build a better world.

At the Valedictory Session, Rajayogi BK Ramnath, Head Quarters Co-ordinator of the Religious Wing, R.E.R.F, Mt. Abu, presented his valedictory address.

Words of felicitation were given by Thiru Sevvoor S. Ramachandran, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Government of Tamil Nadu.

HG Sri Gridhari Das, ISKCON, Maraimalainagar; Saktha Sri Varahi manikanda Swamiji, Sri Varahi manthralayam, Coimbatore; and Srimad Swamy Chaitanyanandarji, Sri Vivekananda Ashram, Vellimalai, Kanyakumari, shared their views about the theme and the contribution of spirituality towards it.

BK Uma, Senior Rajayoga Teacher, Thiruvannamalai, conducted meditation. A lot of silence and divinity was felt through the link she created within.

BK Devi, Senior Rajayoga Teacher, Ashoknagar, Chennai, proposed the vote of thanks.

With that the conference ended successfully, creating lasting impressions in the minds of the participants. The conference imparted positivity and social responsibility towards a better world.

The Brahma Kumaris is a voluntary organization offering socio-spiritual and educational services to all of mankind with its International Headquarters at Mt Abu, Rajasthan. The organization is offering educational programmes in moral and spiritual values through its 5,400 centers spread across 147 countries.
