Miami ( USA ): Media Producer-host Meredith Porte was in conversation with Professor Nathan Katz at Florida International University August 27. This conversation is part of the ‘Friday with Friends – spiritual conversations’ series hosted by the BK Miami Meditation Center.
A Distinguished Religion Professor Emeritus, Nathan Katz’s great love for India dates back to his childhood. He has traveled and conducted religious research there numerous times, seeing India as his second home! He is an internationally recognized authority on Indian Jewry. Katz served as Distinguished Professor in the Florida International University School of International and Public Affairs, the Bhagwan Mahavir Professor of Jain Studies, and the academic director of the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU. Dr. Katz has known the Dalai Lama for many years, bringing him to speak in Miami three times. He is best known for his work in Indo-Judaic Studies and his numerous award-winning books on Indian Jewish communities reveal the bond between Judaism and Hinduism.
