Foundation Stone Laid for Brahma Kumaris Meditation Cum Drug De-addiction Centre

Medo ( Arunachal Pradesh ): Foundation stone of Brahma Kumaris meditation-cum-drug-de-addiction centre was laid by its director Raj Yogini Satyavati (in-charge of North Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Arunachal)  to free Medo-Wakro and its nearby areas from clutch of dreaded opium and other contraband substances. Speaking as chief guest, she exhorted to imbibe spirituality for peace, happiness and drug free life for the better growth of individual and the mankind as whole.

Sharing his experience and widespread opium affect in Anjaw and Lohit districts, retired PHED CE Lapalum Kri said that opium tentacle in Mishmi society has been a cause of concern for which he has spearheaded a movement against the menace. “We are committed to get rid of opium addiction by people up to 30-year age group of by 2030. Spiritual organizations, like Brahma Kumaris, closely working to rehabilitate the addicts would immensely help our endeavour being a challenging task”, he said. He promised to extend full support to develop the centre soon.

Former Chowkham-Wakro MLA Sokhia Dellang also expressed his serious concern over addiction but he joined the movement to fight against the looming threat to the applause of the gathering.

Sosai in the main market area here while TRIMHS senior pathologist Dr Sopai Towsik has taken the responsibility to build the structure for the greater cause of Mishmi society.
