Dirba, Sangrur ( Punjab ): The Brahma Kumaris of Geeta Bhawan Pathshala in the Sangrur district held a seminar under the ‘Self-Reliant Farmer’ Campaign of the Brahma Kumaris Rural Wing. It was attended by Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister, Government of Punjab. BK Meera and BK Kanchan presided over this event. Farmers practicing organic farming in the region displayed their products by putting up stalls at this event. The Minister visited these stalls to encourage the farmers.
Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister, while addressing the farmers, said that Brahma Kumaris have held this seminar to encourage farmers towards natural organic farming.
BK Lakshmi of Sonipat Retreat Center said that whatever work we do with a clear mind leaves a good impact on the surrounding environment and makes it healthy.
Mahendra Singh Sidhu, Chairman of Punseed, said that farmers will be helped in procuring the seeds.
Harbans Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, said that the Government is making special efforts to train the farmers.
Darshan Singh, Head of Arhtiya Association, while thanking the guests said that farmers should avoid excess use of pesticides to avoid diseases.

*दिरबा (संगरूर)*: ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ की पहल ‘आत्मनिर्भर किसान अभियान’ के तहत शहर के *गीता भवन धर्मशाला में बीके मीरा दीदी एवं कंचन दीदी के नेतृत्व में गोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया। इस सेमिनार में पंजाब के वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा ने विशेष रूप से भाग लिया।*
संगरूर जिले में जैविक खेती करने वाले किसानों ने अपने उत्पादों की बिक्री के लिए स्टॉल लगाए। इस अवसर पर वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा किसानों द्वारा जैविक खेती करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए किसानों द्वारा लगाए गए स्टालों पर गए। इस अवसर पर किसानों को संबोधित करते हुए सोनीपत रिट्रीट सेंटर के बीके लक्ष्मी दीदी ने कहा कि हम जो कार्य स्पष्ट मन से करते हैं उसका अच्छा प्रभाव आसपास के वातावरण पर पड़ता है और वातावरण स्वच्छ बनता है।
इस मौके पर *वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा ने किसानों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ ने किसानों को प्राकृतिक खेती की ओर प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए यह गोष्ठी आयोजित की।* इस मौके पर बोलते हुए पनसीड के चेयरमैन महेन्द्र सिंह सिद्धू ने कहा कि किसानों को फसलों का बीज उपलब्ध कराने में मदद की जायेगी। इस मौके पर मुख्य कृषि अधिकारी हरबंस सिंह ने कहा कि किसानों के प्रशिक्षण के लिए सरकार द्वारा विशेष प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। इस मौके पर आरतिया एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष दर्शन सिंह ने अतिथियों का धन्यवाद करते हुए कहा कि किसानों को बीमारियों से बचने के लिए फसलों पर कीटनाशकों का प्रयोग कम से कम करना चाहिए।
