Festival to ‘Revisit’ Rameswaram

Kamareddy (Medak): The Shiva temple at Rameswaram is among the 12 ancient Jyotirlingams of India.
As part of the 83rd Trimurti Shiv Jayanti celebrations, Kamareddy centre incharge BK Jaya led a chariot rally carrying a replica of the Rameswaram Shiv Jyotirling.
Flagged off at Ramayampeta, the rally taken out through Kamareddy, Nirmal, Yellareddy and Armoor culminated at Nizamabad where a public meeting was addressed by MP Kalwakunta Kavita as the Chief Guest.
The MP offered prayers to  Lord Shiva and garlanded the Jyotirling before invoking His blessings.
“The welcome ritual to the Bestower of everything in life is negligible compared to His blessings,” she said while inaugurating the rally at Nehru Park. She said she was elated to be in the company of women and children. The women who carried holy urns also held banners and flags during the procession.
“I am extremely happy to be a part of this campaign. The society today is full of violence, unethical and corrupt practices. Such events by the Brahma Kumaris will help awaken people and arouse devotional and spiritual sentiments in the society,” she said, and congratulated everyone for their participation.
BK Jaya presented a memento to the MP.
Mayor Akula Sujata, MLC Akula Lalita, Urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta and several other political leaders attended the event and received divine blessings.
