Rani ( Rajasthan ): On World Diabetes Day, a webinar was conducted by the Brahma Kumaris Rani centre on ‘Save future generations from diabetes epidemic, our responsibility.’

‘डायबिटीज महामारी से बचाएं भावी पीढ़ी, ज़िम्मेदारी हमारी ‘

Rajayogi Dr. Shrimant, Consultant Diabetologist and Holistic Care Physician, Global Hospital & Research Centre, Mount Abu, was the keynote speaker. He shared and created the right awareness among the viewers. He said to beat diabetes, lifestyle modification is very important. We should develop the habit of going to bed early and waking up early in the morning. We need to lead a tension-free life because today, more than 60% of diseases arise due to tension alone. He added that it is important to remain healthy, both body and mind.

He emphasized three things:

  • Carbohydrate Intake should be minimised. We should eat more vegetables, sprouts and fruits.
  • Brisk walk is a must for about half an hour daily. Daily exercise will keep our joints and muscles flexible for a longer period. We should do our work, cleaning the house, etc., on our own.
  • Regular practice of Rajyoga Meditation will help us to lead a tension-free life even in adverse situations.

Dr. Bharat Gomtiwal, MD (Medicine), Community Health Centre, Rani, expressed his views on the topic. He said diabetes is known as a lifestyle disease. It is necessary to maintain the right weight, avoid fast food, and do physical activities to avoid diabetes.

BK Sonu, Centre Incharge, Rani, coordinated the session and BK Asmita conducted a guided meditation.
