Brahma Kumaris Pitch for Value and Spiritual Education in New Draft Education Policy 2019

New Delhi : The Brahma Kumaris Organization has forwarded constructive suggestions to the Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development regarding its new Draft Education Policy 2019.  At Dr. Ambedkar Center in New Delhi, a seminar of prominent educationists from all over the country was held on the topic “New India Through New Knowledge”. It was presided by the Union Minister of HRD Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. These suggestions are in continuity of that endeavour by the union government to incorporate the best educational methods of our times. They incorporate the core principles of the Education Wing of the Brahma Kumaris as well.

A moral education class of one hour per day for primary and secondary level students has been given emphasis in these suggestions.  This will instill good values and cultural wisdom in our children.  A Spiritual University to carry forward and impart the rich spiritual knowledge of India to its new generation is the need of the hour.  A Bachelor in Value Education and Spirituality course can be started.  Value and Spiritual Education can be made mandatory in professional education.  In order to address the increasing stress levels amongst medical and engineering students, establishing Rajayoga Thought Energy Labs is a novel idea. The Brahma Kumaris Education Wing can show the way in this direction.

A one-month value-oriented teachers training program should be made mandatory for those teaching in technological, medical, administrative and literature fields.  The same course should be made compulsory for three months for the teachers of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Every year for one week, all school teachers of primary, secondary and higher secondary levels should undertake a value education program.

The Brahma Kumaris Organization is equipped with a trained teachers network all over India for imparting value and spiritual knowledge to empower teachers. It also has rich experience for contribution to the value and spiritual education curriculum.

It is only through laying emphasis on value-based spiritual education that our society can transform itself in a tangible manner. Only then can a Golden Bharat become a reality.
