Brahma Kumaris Moscow Receive Medal “For the endeavour in enlightenment, culture, art and literature”

Musical and poetic project “Lira” – A cultural and educational project of the Brahma Kumaris

Moscow ( Russia ) : Spirituality is demonstrated in numerous and various areas in our lives: in professional activities and education, in the family and social responsibility, in a healthy lifestyle and culture, and so on.

For its systematic approach to spiritual development education in Russia, the Cultural Center named after Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachev in Moscow and the Public Council, operating at the Cultural Center, awarded the BK Director of the Brahma Kumaris Center of Spiritual Development of Moscow in Russia, BK Sudha Rani Gupta, with a medal “For the endeavour in enlightenment, culture, art and literature.”

The medal was presented by the Chairman of the Public Council at the Cultural Center, D.S. Likhacheva Galina Dionisievna Kudryavtseva.

“Lira” is a cultural and educational project of the Brahma Kumaris introduced with the aim of promoting the works of selected Russian and foreign authors in the field of literature, poetry, music, etc., in order to discover the spiritual depth in their works, using the language of literature that is understandable to Russians. Russian and world literature possesses an inexhaustible moral potential that can be revealed to people, inspiring reflection on the meaning of life, on eternal human values. Classical works of literature and music that have stood the test of time and brought up many generations enable us to see the beauty of a human soul.

The musical and poetic project “Lira” used in its activity the works of the following authors, as well as some famous historical figures: Pushkin Alexander Sergeyevich, Griboedov Alexander Sergeyevich, William Shakespeare, Lermontov Mikhail Yurievich, Denis Vasilyevich Davydov, Chaadaev Peter Yakovlevich, Fedor Ivanovich Tolstoy “American,” Chekhov Anton Pavlovich, Nadezhda Andreyevna Durova, Prince Felix Feliksovich Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elston (the last of the Yusupov princes), Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilyov, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev, and Marius Petipa.

Several programs were also dedicated to some famous historical personalities such as Princess Olga, Akbar the Great, and Mahatma Gandhi, the man of the millennium.

“Lira” programs were also held with the following titles: “Oh, India, You are the Cradle of the Planet,” ”Distant and Close India,” “Countless Treasures in Stone Caves of the faraway India,” “The 70th Anniversary celebrations of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Russia,” “The Echo of War” program, “The heroic feat of the Soviet people in the battle with Nazi Germany,” and “Year of the Theatre”.

All programs are supplemented with live music and conducted generally in public and college libraries, houses of culture, and sanatoriums.
