Brahma Kumaris Celebrate Maha Shivratri in Chandigarh

Chandigarh ( Punjab ): Two programs were organized on the occasion of the 84th Trimurti Shiv Jayanti held at Rajayoga Bhawan, Sector-33, in Chandigarh.

A three-kilometer Prabhat Pheri ( morning walk ), Flag Hosting, and Felicitation of six social leaders was held in which Chief Guest Honorable Justice Mrs. Daya Chaudhary, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court; felicitated Mrs. Neena Singh, Trustee and Chief Functionary, Bharat Prakarsh Foundation (for the education of underprivileged children); Mrs. Sangita Vardhan, Founder and Chairperson, Vatsal Chaya Trust and Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Chandigarh; Raksah Rasila, Sub Inspector, Chandigarh Police (for 140 times blood donation and cremation of 1350 unidentified bodies); Vivek Trivedi,  Social Development Officer, MC, Chandigarh (for 15 yrs service for Poverty Alleviation, Livelihood, Community Development, Women Leadership, Climate Change and Youth Development Employment and Skill Building); Mr. Jagdish Singh Diwan, Social Worker (for education of underprivileged children); Mrs. Rekha Trivedi, Founder, Wheel Chair, Cricket Federation of India, an Association of promoting wheel chair cricket and other Divyang Sports in the Country.

A public program on the “Spiritual Significance of Maha Shivratri” was held with guests Mr. J. M. Balamurugan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Governor Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh; and Honorable Justice Mr. S K Mittal, Chairman, Human Rights Commission, Haryana.
