Assam Minister Address ‘Custodians of Humanity – Social Workers’ program in Guwahati

Guwahati ( Assam ): A Social Wing Program titled “ Custodians of Humanity – Social Workers ” was organized by Brahma Kumaris Rupnagar Center, Guwahati under the canopy theme of “Azadi ke Amrit Mahotsav se Swarnim Bharat ki Ore” at Haryana Bhawan of Guwahati City. The program was very well received by people from different walks of life and got immense support from the Assam State Government  whose Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Irrigation Ashok Singhal participated as Chief Guest in the program.  Addressing the august gathering, Mr. Singhal stated that it’s the mind that need to be taken care of because it wanders ceaselessly. A simple technique to achieve this end according to ancient texts, he said, is to develop disinterest or vairagya towards physical world.

Guruprasad Medhi, eminent social worker and Mahanagar Sanghchalak of Rashtriya Swaramsevak Sangh (RSS) also presided over the meeting and thanked the Brahma Kumaris for its services to the society by imparting spiritual knowledge and encouraging masses for self control and self discipline.

Earlier, Rajyogi Brahma Kumar Rakesh from Delhi deliberated upon the theme of the program. He stated that although our country had achieved freedom from foreign rule long back, the countrymen are still struggling for inner freedom from lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego. He said it is of immense social benefit that the Brahma Kumaris are showing way to overcome these negative pattern of mind through practice of Rajayoga Meditation and imparting spiritual knowledge.

BK Vijay Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Assam Financial Corporation and Media Panalist of BJP Assam Pradesh shared his beautiful divine experience with Brahma Kumaris since he joined the organization in 1999. He reiterated that by following the principals of Rajyoga Meditation he achieved peace of mind while staying in the public life as a politician for so long. He said he learned the art of positive thinking by studying spiritual knowledge and was able to build his successful political career by being able to give up criticism of opponents.

The gathering was also blessed by the presence of Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sheela, Subzone Incharge of Brahma Kumaris Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal, Mizoram and Bangladesh centers, who called upon one and all to give up the “ I and Mine ” in order to serve the society in the real sense. She stated that it has been seen that even a service to society for good cause can build up ego in  one’s mind and the best way to remain safe from it is considering oneself as an instrument of Almighty God. She later felicitated 15 prominent social workers of the city for their prominent services to the society.

Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Jonali, Incharge, Nalbari, Barpeta and Baska Centers welcomed the audience and guests in the program and Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sarada, Incharge, Bharalumukh Center presented vote of thanks.

Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Moushumi, Incharge, New Guwahati Center successfully coordinated the stage while Kumari Pratiksha, Kumari Maanya and Kumari Sagarika performed beautiful dance during the program.
